    The size and rurality of Shropshire means that people’s experiences of using services can differ drastically across the county. We wanted to capture the voice of people from different parts of Shropshire and see how their experiences varied.

    Social Prescribing is where we are ‘prescribed’ a social/community activity instead of a clinical solution. We wanted to get a better understanding of the needs of local people and the challenges that social prescribing could face within the county.

    Healthwatch Shropshire visited eight care homes registered with CQC as providing some level of Dementia care to learn more about the care they provide and identify areas of good practice. The visits included both residential and nursing homes. We chose care homes of varying size and CQC rating and in different areas of Shropshire.
