We have the right to visit, unannounced if needed, places providing health and social care – including hospitals, GP practices, dentists, pharmacists, residential homes and home care services – then report and publicise what we find.
We also go out into communities, working with established groups and charities, to hold meetings and events, gather evidence and ask for opinions on specific issues.
Healthwatch Shropshire is independent and has real clout. We have a duty to challenge poor care where we find it.
We have a seat on the Shropshire Health and Wellbeing Board, which makes decisions about how the NHS, local councils and social care organisations deliver their services.
Our team of staff and volunteers work with individuals, groups and communities, plus health and social care professionals and service volunteers.
Individuals and organisations are welcome to become associate members of Healthwatch Shropshire.
Healthwatch Shropshire is committed to inclusivity and is supportive of the local NHS Trusts' 'Do you ask the question' video focusing on equality and diversity to improve the patient experience.
